A New Farrier

Can't beat the weather.

After chores I started mowing the pastures and am half done.  Just the big one is left.

The outdoor arena is almost totally filled in with grass.

The front paddock is starting to fade on the north side.

Gary had yoga and went out to lunch.
At 2:30 Jessy (the new farrier) arrived.  She has known Buddy for years.
He was done first while I took the boot off Rebel, who came into the grooming room pretty well.

Somehow (much to my surprise) he allowed Jessy to trim all four feet.  I really thought he would not be able to support himself, but he did and was a perfect gentleman.
I put on a good dose of hoof dressing....no soaking and no wrap.  Also no bute so we can see how he really is in the morning.
On Saturday,
will be playing at the Harvest Festival.  Rehearsing tomorrow.
Gary worked in the gardens by the Studio and I made a simple dinner.  Sliced up the leftover country ribs and made sandwiches with a corn salad on the side.
Chores at 7:15.
Rebel was not normal, but was still hanging in there.  We shall see what he's like by morning.

Night all.

Did the farrier offer any reason for his lameness?

He's moving along slowly with a slight limp but not too bad.
