No beautiful sky pictures this morning. It started off near 60 with light sprinkles so the hay went under the shed roof. Gary helped me with chores so I was done in no time...I am so glad that it's going to be lighter out there tomorrow morning. Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour tonight.

The grass is hanging in there...short but green.

and yes...we have puddles in the big pasture.

Just one little daisy left out there.

At 11 am I drove over to a friends house and passed field after field of dry corn...

Appropriate for Halloween.

We headed over to a riding stable on the other side of town...

and met Panache...

before we went out to lunch at the Peach Cafe. There were six of us and the food was great (as a matter of fact, there will be no dinner tonight).

On my way home I took the back roads. It is not uncommon to see these signs posted (this one is not far from our farm).

What a vacation day...when I got home, I called Jenny to see what the plan was for tonight with the boys and trick or treating...needed to get some pictures.

So Gar and I headed into Brockport.

Are these kids cuties or what?

The six of them started out with a pizza dinner at Jen's, then hit the streets with the three Dads.

Jen had candles lit in the dining room that added to the spirit of things.

By 6 they were ready to go.

I have a feeling Finn and Cooper had something to do with this pumpkin carving.

Buster scouted out all the activity...

Gary entertained the dogs while Jenny got set up for candy distribution. In her neighborhood it is common to get a couple hundred kids.

By now the temperature dropped and it was very windy. The boys put more clothes on under their costumes.

They were trying to give me the look.

On the way back to the farm, the sky started looking a little more interesting.

Lucky for me, Trina (and Justine) did chores tonight.

Now, I am going out in the kitchen to sit by the fire and watch a movie. Night all. Tomorrow I am riding Berlin with my new bitless bridle.

I just can't put away my camera when the sky is this beautiful, so you are stuck with the photos I took this evening. This first one was played with in iPhoto.

In a matter of 10 minutes, the colors changed many times.

#2058 JUST RELAX...

Another mild morning. Chores went quickly...took the dogs with me and of course they got all muddy.

The horses nibbled on their hay for a little while, but went out to the pasture for the green stuff. (Below, are the photos I took of the sky this was an amazing site).

Cindy, here are a couple of "as is" photos of my Smuckers harness. You'll have to come over and see it.

Nice headstall....

Headed back to the house...we have millions of leaves everywhere...and political signs. Don't forget to vote this coming Tuesday.

A couple of flowers are still hanging on by a thread.

Went down to the Town Hall to drop off some paper work. These huge pieces of equipment are everywhere. Still zigging and zagging all through the village.

Randy came up to help Gary finish planting garlic...they got rained out and ended up in front of the fire.

It's a real luxury to be able to do this in the middle of the day.

This one's for you Frank!

Gary brings wood to the side porch in a big green wagon, so we can keep this fire going.

Homemade pizza tonight, so I started on the sauce.

Sauted some onions and red peppers for a topping.

Bought the dough at Wegmans, and let it rise all afternoon.

Put together a salad before I went out to the barn.

The dogs were not too happy with me, as I didn't take them along.

They only got as far as the back yard.

While we were eating our pizza, Doug (from down the road) was taking away our manure pile to use as fertilizer in his gardens.

It was too dark for me to get a picture....but he's in there! And I really appreciate having that area emptied out.

I did not do much today. Had great intentions, wanted to try out my bitless bridle....instead, the fire won out. Night all.
