Pot Luck For 20

Not my favorite morning.  We were under 32 degrees all day and the water trough had ice on it.  Ended

up moving it to the winter spot, where I have my heater.  The snow started last night.

The farrier arrived just before I finished morning chores.

When she left, Buddy and Rebel worked on their breakfast, but spent most of the day looking for grass under the snow.

I had to move my old John Deere into the indoor as it was totally covered in white stuff.  All summer I kept it under the south shed roof on the indoor so it was handy.
The Democratic Committee was coming for a pot luck/election wrap up at 6 so I got everything organized this afternoon.  Chores at 5.  The barn was cold and it's going down in the 20s tonight.

Everyone arrived at 6.  We had a very brief meeting and then indulged in all kinds of good things.

I'm so tired.  So is Little Wonder.  He wore his black coat today and I did not get a decent photo.
Night all.

You Can't Win 'Um All

This was a very messy morning.  Rain and wet snow.  Not a picture taking day.

The boys had their hay under the shed roof, and then ventured out in the wet stuff.
By 1pm I put them back in the barn.  The temperature felt like the high 20s and they were in the outdoor arena getting soaked.

Got back in the house just in time for the Buffalo Bills game, which they lost to the Dolphins.  They were really off today.

At least I was cozy with the fire going.
Before 5 I turned Buddy and Rebel out while I reset their stalls.  By then, the snow had been sticking for awhile.

We had only a little left from last nights dinner, so I thawed out some cabbage soup and it was a mish mash....but easy.
I did not take Little Wonder out for evening chores.  Right now he is ready for bed!

Night all.

Shish kabobs

Plenty of sunshine this morning.

After chores I worked on the house as we were having company for dinner.  I was able to take it easy for awhile this afternoon.....LW joined me.

I watched a movie and then got busy putting the shish kebobs together.
The chicken, veggies and mushrooms had marinated all night.
The table was all set
and I went out for chores around 5.

I'm still not into this darkness.

Gary got everything grilled....

I made a salad....

Jenny brought some basmati rice

and pocket bread.  What a delicious combo.
Plenty of chatter, full of crazy conversations.
Tiffany and Steve brought an outrageous carrot cake.  What a perfect ending.
We all really enjoyed our time together.  Many years ago Tiffany was an intern at John LaFalce's (congressman) office, when Jenny worked there as a congressional aide.  Hanny!  I gave your best to her.
So tired.
Night all.
