Saturation....

What a sloppy mess.  The snow was like a slushie, crushed ice with water.

Let's hope these plants don't drown.
John, our farrier, arrived at 11 and both girls were perfect for him.

Moon's Mom (Lorrie) was here getting her stall set up.  If all goes as planned, she will arrive tomorrow morning.  Can't wait to meet her.
Ran a couple of errands this afternoon and read a little before going out to do chores.

It was still very light at 5:45....yey!!!!!
 Made a salad for dinner....
and added the leftover pasta to the leftover sauce....can't waste anything!
 I don't know about you, but I can't have a dinner without a salad.
 Night all.
I'll introduce Moon tomorrow.

What a Meal....

Slop City this morning.  The snow was saturated and very heavy....what a mess.

After chores I took a shower and drove down to chorus...by then it was snowing like crazy.
We had a very productive rehearsal.

When I got back to the farm it was still coming down....big flakes.

We had our monthly dinner with Ron, Ann, Al and Brenda.
We were welcomed to Al and Brenda's by this beautiful old lamp that was out on their porch.

Pigged out on an asparagus dip, chocolate covered almonds, cheese and crackers.  Of course I over indulged.  So good.

(Brenda completed a painting (from one of my photos)...it's so like the picture.  Too bad the shot came out blurry...she is an amazing artist.)

On with the meal....

I brought a salad....romaine, onion, blackberries, apricots, craisins, bananas, caramelized walnuts and gorganzola cheese.

 Brenda made green beans...
 mashed potatoes
 creamed corn
and Devonshire chicken with apples and an amazing sauce.

(Al is a carver...two of his birds were on the table.)

What a meal!  And except for the bread, the whole thing was gluten free.
Ann was in charge of dessert...it was a torte made with meringue, pecans, cherries and heavy cream.
Off the charts!

Tootsie Louise knew I was a softy when it comes to dogs!
Another great evening with friends.
Night all.

Still Waiting for Spring....

I woke up at 5:20 and the moon was so bright I put on my bathrobe and went out to grab a few shots.
Of course I did not go back to sleep....started some laundry, ate breakfast, checked my email etc.
Within an hour we had a gorgeous sunrise.

All kinds of rays were reaching into the kitchen.

At least it started out sunny....

Took a shower and got ready for class.

I featured Sandy in the post below...check it out.

Cooper was not feeling well today, so Grampa went down at noon so Jenny could go to work.

During class we had started talking about restaurants and food, making us all very hungry....ended up going out to lunch with Sally.  I started to fade in the afternoon as I got up way too early...
didn't even have the energy to read.  We hit 40 degrees and it was very grey with the possibility for some bad weather on the way.  Boooooooooooooooooo.

At least the fire made me happy.

Evening chores around 5:45...lots of wind.  It seems that the girls are not interested in standing still for me, so I have not gotten a decent picture in ages.

Look at which one rolled today....for a change it wasn't Abbe.
 Easy dinner.
A simple salad and spinach/zuchini pasta with olive oil/a little butter/cooked carrots/ caramelized onions and cheese.  So easy.

 Off duty now.
Night all.
