Vacation Day....

After chores I made a banana cream pie and chicken salad.
Ann, Hanny and Bobby arrived at noon for lunch and bridge.
I will guarantee you that this is the best chicken salad ever.
Ready?
I fried 12 organic boneless chicken thighs and set them aside.
In a large bowl I added:
3 celery stalks finely chopped
1 tablespoon minced sweet onion
1/2 cup craisins
1 1/2 cups sliced green grapes
2 diced apples
1 1/2 cups drained/crushed pineapple
Then I added the chicken/diced, a shot of poppyseed dressing and mayo to taste.
The plates were set up with chopped romaine, topped with poppyseed dressing before adding the chicken salad.  Finished with sliced almonds and garnished with peach slices.
Salt and pepper as needed.

The dogs had a short outside break after we ate dessert....

then it was time for bridge.  We jabbered 50% of the time and did not finish 'til 5!

We have ignored the garden and the zucchini should have been picked days ago.
I picked beets, cucumbers and started picking the yellow beans.
Right now I am working on pickled beets.

Gary worked outside all day....painting part of the Studio and sanding a couple
of chairs that we are painting for a fundraiser at the library.
Time for him to take it easy.
Night all.

Drying Out

All day long....beautiful.

I went to the Market for a few minutes and bought peaches, tomatoes, potatoes and "Hottie Sweet Pickles" before going to

our Sunday Jam.  There were only 5 of us today and we sang many new songs.
While we were in the gallery playing, all my purchases were in the car heating up.

I was home before 3:30 and did some reading/napping before doing evening chores.

We were invited to dine with Margay and Ulpi tonight.
 Their gardens were quite spectacular.

We ate on the patio and
 I forgot to take photos!!!!
Herb and Alicia were there and we had some great conversations to go along with Ulpi's
fabulous dishes.

(By the time dessert arrived my brain kicked in).
Grabbed a few shots in the dark on the way out.

Home by 9:30 and now I want to get back to my book.
Night all.
