Hight winds and snow squalls. Gary took it easy this morning. No yoga. No lunch with the Geezers. No going out to the barn.
I put up hay nets behind the grooming room and intended to put them back in after the stalls were done. 15 degrees and it felt like -1.
It was snowing a little before 11 and once again they had their butts to the wind out in the open.
Finn and Coop came up to help with the driveway, but between what I shoveled last night and the heavy winds, it was pretty bare. Instead, they brought the grain and beet pellets from my car to the feed room. Also carried in hot water for the boys. Gary was with them.
Once they were done, Rebel and Buddy were able to get out of the elements.
When Finn and Coop left, I made my final trip to Wegmans before Ariana and Kurt get here tomorrow....and Daniela arrives the next day. It will be a miracle if they don't get delayed (airports). Once again we were in the middle of a snow squall.
When I got a short way down our road, there was no snow and the sun came out while I was at the store.
I made 3 quarts of chicken soup and 3 plus quarts of bean salad (Daniela loves it) when I got home.
We were supposed to get two beds delivered tomorrow before our company arrives, but it is not going to happen. Driving conditions are too bad for them to get them to Dunn's Furniture. Gary did a few things upstairs and tomorrow morning I will get the downstairs perked up. Chores at 5. Gary took out the hot water and by then we had more snow. I did a little shoveling before resetting the stalls,
I have no clue why everything did not look green tonight.
How's that for a little drama in the sky? That's how it looked around 5:30.
Tonight Jenny, Scott, Finn and Coop came up for dinner. I needed to do something with a ham I had bought.
We had Mac and cheese, a salad and the ham that I had sliced and basted with brown sugar and mustard. Put it under the broiler and it got nice and caramalized. So delicious! Of course Gary could not eat as he would have normally and was thrilled to have applesauce instead of a salad. Trying to be smart. He had chicken broth for lunch along with some yogurt and it is my opinion that he needs to be careful for awhile. Jenny was kind enough to do the dishes. She and Cooper also did some shoveling. We are very lucky to have family nearby and they always come through for us.
Little Wonder did not want to go out for chores this morning, but he made it tonight. Too cold!
Night all.
