Errands

This was an unusual day.  Last night Rebel was standing by himself near the indoor and did not seem quite right at chore time.  I made sure he had plenty of warm water and he ate his grain but he did not seem interested in hay.  4 hours later I went out with more warm water and he was just standing there and had still hardly touched it.  This morning I went out in the dark (very early) to make sure he was ok.  He had eaten, some of the hay and fortunately there was manure in his stall.  I went down to Tractor Supply and bought a new heater for the water trough and you might know that the temperature went up to 38 degrees.  Three errands later, I was back home to set it up.

It was just starting to get light when they went out to finish their breakfast (they left over half of it).

Once Gary got up, Sidney was let out and he ventured to the barn.  He likes clawing his way up the bags of shavings so he can grab some food.

We did get a couple inches of snow last night, and after shoveling the driveway, it stayed bare.

One of my stops today was Greg'rys Bakery in Bergen, where I picked up four cookies.  Loved their decorations inside and out.
When I hooked up the new water heater I looked for Rebel and he was acting normal.  I'm sure both horses loved the warmer weather.

Before chores, all I wanted to do was sit by the fire,  But....it was raining and I put the boys in early.  Sid and LW took my place.

Fortunately, Rebel seemed his old self and I hope he stays that way.  The barn temperature was 31 degrees.
I did make a good dinner.  Baked chicken, yams and a salad.

Time to get in some chair time by the fire.
Night all.
