Freedom

It felt so great not having that cuff on!  Val and Sandra....I know I can take my blood pressure at home and the cardiologist gave me a cuff a long time ago which he took back (as he thinks it was worse for me to get worked up over it).  We do happen to have one here tho, and I will give it a shot on my own.

The first thing I did this morning, was to get some fresh flowers out of the kitchen garden.
Around 10:30 Little Wonder, Sid and I went out to the barn to bundle up more of the loose hay.  Tomorrow Kathy and Mike (own the farm where Buddy is boarded) are coming over to pick up the rest of the bales I am donating to Buddy.
Of course, because there are no horses, the pastures are going to be fantastic!

Gary got out the roto tiller this afternoon and has prepared a space to plant potatoes.

Mid afternoon I got off my butt and went to Country Max and Wegmans. Would love to have all these orchids.
There is a new Chinese restaurant in town and thought I would give it a try.  Ordered Sesame chicken to go.

We split one dinner, as I already had egg rolls at home.  The best sesame chicken I have ever had.  Gary even liked it.
It did not get very warm today and by late afternoon we got a fire going.
Tomorrow my friend Alicia and I are going shopping for some food as we are in charge of making two charcuterie boards for an event on Sunday.  I've done it before and actually enjoy putting them together.
Night all.

11:45

Don't even ask if I got any sleep last night.  From 11:45 am to 10pm....every 30 minutes.  From 10pm to 7am every hour.  From 7am to 11:45 every half hour. Do you know how many times that cuff squeezed my arm?  Could not wait to get it off.  At 7:30 the sun was shining into the bedroom....I gave up and got out of bed.

In between, I managed to make the bed,  did some laundry and made ham and scalloped potatoes for dinner before taking a shower and going to Brockport to return the cuff and monitor.

(Little Wonder and Sidney always keep me company when I'm taking a shower).
By 1 I was at the library for bridge.  My partner and I came in dead last. The temperature was 70 when we were finished.
I stopped at Country Max on the way home to get two new bowls for LW and they were too small for the stand.  Will have to exchange them tomorrow.

Dinner was delicious.  Ham and scalloped potatoes, a shallot and tomato salad and deviled eggs.

Night all.
Hope I can sleep well!

On the Road Again

Such a bright, gorgeous day.  We made it to 51 degrees.

A busy morning.  Took a shower, went to the bank and Wegmans, then at 10:45 we headed into Rochester so I could have a BP monitor put on (as ordered by my cardiologist).
If you have never had this done....what a pain in the butt.  This thing is hanging around my neck to gather information....
and I have a cuff on my arm.
It was put on at 11:30am and will come off at 11:30am tomorrow.  24 hours squeezing the crap out of my arm.  Every half hour during the day and every hour at night!  Can't stand it and don't think the information gathered is valid.  Won't do it again.  I am the queen of white coat syndrome so all this does is raise my blood pressure.  Let's see what happens.  Trying to stay cool.
Home by 12:30 and spent the afternoon in front of the fire with my buddies.
Decided a simple supper was in order and made Naan bread pizzas.

Sid and Little Wonder found some good light in the living room after dinner.

Night all.

PS
Sandra....enjoyed catching up with you this afternoon!

Felt Like -2 This Morning

The wind was back in full force.  So cold and there were snowflakes on the car.

I had the heating pad going.

Gary went to yoga and out to lunch....I got things organized for music at 1.  Darryl and Gary were here today and we played for 2 1/2 hours.  One crazy song after another.

It could not have been too bad, as Little Wonder was able to catch some zzzzzzzzzs.
It was so late by the time they left I was not in the mood to start on dinner.  So we had tomato soup with ham salad sandwiches,
Little Wonder was hoping for something better.
Good light tonight...31 degrees, felt like 22.

Night all.

PS
Came across this quote today.  Suits me to a T.
A reminder that getting older doesn’t mean stepping away from the things that bring joy. Sometimes it just means finding a new way to stay in the game.

Working on it.....
