#1 Again

Another beauty.  83 degrees.

This morning Little Wonder and I were doing our usual thing and someone came to the door to buy rhubarb.  We have a sign out by the road and always pull it when ordered so it is fresh. 

So, we went out and got her a bunch.

Now the peonies have started blooming....

and the iris are still strong.

I went in to take a shower and LW waited for me on the bed.

At 10:30 a friend came to pick up some plastic pallets for her barn and she will stack her hay on them.  Now I just have heavy wooden pallets left and am almost ready to really give the barn and grooming room a final cleaning.

Bridge at 1.  My partner was Rosalie and we came in first.  That is the third time I was on the winning team in a month.  Yay!

On my way home a boat was going under the Park Street bridge, which needed to be raised.  This happens pretty frequently while the canal is open.

Got back to the farm and picked over a quart of strawberries.

Last night (when it was dark) the farmer who rents the field next to us was working it up.  Just before dinner tonight he was finishing and all the dust was blowing this way.  The green barn roofs are now brown.

A veggie dinner tonight. Made some coleslaw

which we had with leftover scalloped potatoes and a croissant.

Looking forward to some chair time with my heating pad and Little Wonder on my lap.

Another Ride

This beautiful weather has been an inspiration.  The sun woke Little Wonder up and I was out of bed before 6.

There are so many roses blooming I can smell them from a distance.

More strawberries were ready today.  Pretty soon I will be able to make shortcake.

Gary spent much of the day in the gardens....cleaning things out and planting zinnias.  I had a nice chat with Sandra, my blogging pal who lives in Minnesota (and has many horses)!  It's so nice to talk to someone directly instead of through comments.

Eventually I decided to go for another trike ride.  #13

Going out.....

Coming home.

Don't have a clue why people care, but I can get over 500 views in no time on FB.  Must be the music.

Little Wonder always reminds me when it's time for dinner.

I did make a good one tonight.  Used the strawberries with bananas in a salad....

and scalloped potatoes.

Yum.

At 6pm the sun was beaming through the west windows....so mellow.

We were up at 6am.

I did a little more mowing around 9:30. Gary went to yoga and out to lunch.

Check out how tall the grass is.

The small pasture I mowed yesterday has plenty left on the ground.  Could bale it.

Little Wonder was feeling the heat.  We got up to about 77 this afternoon.

Picked our first strawberries.  So much flavor....not like what you get at the store.

I also managed to make some Apple Betty.

We needed to have something sweet in the house.

Mid afternoon I got off my butt and went for a trike ride.  Number 12.

This time I made two videos.  They come out all crisp for FB and I have to take a video of the video to put them on here and they get all goofy.  Val, do you know how I can add music to my videos for my Journal?

Made a quick trip to Wegmans and picked up a sub for dinner.
