Landed

Too hot for me today.  88 and muggy.

I met my friend, Judy, for lunch today at the Churchville Grill and we gabbed for over two hours.  So nice to catch up.

We are still getting new blossoms.  Three more today.

Gary picked the rest of the shallots and did more work around the raised beds.  I don't know how he can stand the heat.

Jenny was up at 3:30am this morning (German time) and got to the Rochester airport tonight at 6:15 our time.  So pooped after being up for 20 hours.  Scott and I worked on a plan for dinner so she could just come home, eat, take a shower and go to bed.  Unfortunately she has to work tomorrow.  Little Wonder is always invited when we go there.

Gary picked a bunch of flowers and we took down a basket of veggies, 5 bags of last years frozen pasta sauce....zucchini parm, Mac salad and tomato salad.  Gary and Scott grilled the chicken.

A very nice feast.

We left at 8pm so Jenny could get some sleep.

Little Wonder thoroughly enjoyed getting another ride in the car

The sunset was looking good....but I just didn't have the energy to chase it.

Finn and Grampa

A beautiful day....not too humid.

Gary went to yoga and out to lunch.  Little Wonder and I went out to the kitchen garden for awhile.

It's wild out there.  Many native plants.

I picked a couple of huge beets....

and pickled them.

Finn came up at 1:30 to help Gary with some mowing and weed whacking....then they got started on a project I requested.  It ended up being big one.

They worked on improving the steps into the kitchen garden.

I made a big macaroni salad (requested by Scott) as Jenny will be coming home tomorrow and we will be having dinner at their house.  A head start.

Finn stayed for dinner and we had gigantic taco salads topped with Doritos (which we have not had for years).

Afterward I was ready for a nap but am doing this instead.  LW had the right idea.

Jenny and Sabine have had the best time.  Tonight they had an Italian dinner on a pier next to the Baltic.

She will be getting up at 3:30 am (German time) so she can get to the airport to catch her plane in the morning.
