Another beautiful....crazy day.
Rebel went straight out after breakfast and Buddy went over to his stall to see if there were any leftovers.
Gary went to yoga and lunch and 3 painters were here much of the day.
One of the little apple trees Gary planted is sporting two apples. Hopefully next year will bring many more.
At 1:30 I drove down to the Welcome Center as we had our 4th gig in 9 days. This boat, the Seneca Chief, was built in Buffalo replicating one that was constructed almost 200 years ago. It is 75 feet long and weighs 40 tons!!! There is no motor in it and is pushed by a tug boat. When it arrived, we were just setting up under a canopy.
There is a crew of twelve that is making this dress rehearsal trip (2024 Sea Trial) down part of the canal as there is going to be a huge celebration in 2025, embarking on a Bicentennial voyage from Buffalo to New York Harbor, commemorating Gov. DeWitt Clinton's 1825 inaugural journey. It's going to tell a story about history and community.
The other Lori was not able to play with us today so that was quite an adjustment....but we did it!
There were several big boats parked at the Welcome Center today.
Many people were there to tour the boat.....including Gary.
When we finished playing I went home for a couple of hours, then Gary and I went down at 6:30 for a dinner.

A very nice evening and the Seneca Chief crew appreciated the hospitality.
Home just in time to tuck in Buddy and Rebel.
I need some serious rest.

I'd say you definitely need some serious rest! You live in a very social area, lots of interesting things happening all the time. That is a very heavy boat! And Buddy, ever the optimist!
Your blog is always so interesting and I enjoyed the informative pictures of the history of the peoples of the area. DH is part Choctaw and Cherokee in addition to British and European heritage.
