The Dill Pickle Rally With A Side Of Summer Serenades

A busy and productive day.

Chores first.  Gary had already washed the jars for the pickles last night.

I mowed most of the lawn before we got going on the pickles at 10:30.

While I did that, Gary peeled the garlic.
By the time Jenny and Steph arrived, I had many of the cucumbers sliced and

had the table set up for mass production.
After the jars were sterilized, we put garlic, dill and pepper corns in the bottom of each.
Then we stuffed 26 jars with the cucumbers.
Gary had the canner set up on the back porch and he and Randy were in charge of that part of the process.

Randy brought a gigantic box of donuts and we all indulged.
Just before the last batch was in the canner, we stopped for lunch.
Fortunately Scott was able to make it.

After the pickles were done, Jenny did the hand mowing and I finished on the rider.
The pickles turned out well.  Unfortunately, 1 jar broke in the canner.
It was nap time for me and the pups.

Gary left at 5 for Summer Serenades.  Steph, Bandit and I Got there around 6:45.
I went down and sat with our friend, Jeanne C. and Steph took the dog for a walk on the other side of the Canal.

The band tonight was THREE HITS AND A MISS.  A fun group that sang a huge variety of songs that went way back to the 50s.

Gary, Patty and Jackie are so much fun at these concerts.

Jenny was there as a photo bomber.

Before leaving, Cooper stopped over to say good bye to Steph as she is leaving early tomorrow morning for another very long drive.

Night all.

I am so envious of your community. You have an assembly line for pickle making! Impressive!
