Please No Explosions Tonight

WARNING....THIS IS A MARATHON POST

Well, the Town Fireworks were far enough away we hardly heard them last night.  Let's hope our neighbors don't go nuts when it gets dark.

We woke up to fog. It was in the high 60s and got more and more humid.

After chores I finished mowing the lawn and around the pastures.  I have to do some serious trimming between the indoor and the outdoor arena.

At 11:30 Gary and I went down to the Morgan Manning House for an old fashioned 4th of July celebration.  We have been going there for decades.
All the people in these photos have been doing the same.

First we grabbed lunch.

Then we listened to the band...Great American Jukebox.
Love their style.  They will be playing at Summer Serenades in a few weeks.

When we got home, cooled off, then Gary pulled out some onions.  Perfect, as I am out of them.
Our friend, Brian, came over late afternoon to pick up the manure.
This time he brought his neighbor, who wanted it.  He drove his tractor over and loaded it for Brian.  This is one big rig and they did everything in under an hour.  It was packed!!!  We wanted to make sure this was done before our driveway gets paved.  In the future we will go back to having it loaded into a dump trailer pulled by a pick up truck.

Dinner was an instant replay.  It's a good thing we love leftovers.

And here is the spot where the manure pile was taking up a lot of space.
After it rains again, this area will turn back into grass.  Pretty ugly at the moment.
Chores at 8.  Still so hot and muggy.

If you got through this....you are a real trooper.
Night all.

Our closer neighbors used to shoot off fireworks a lot but the critters just got used to it. Charlie fears gunshot noises and fireworks. Our ridge was quiet last night and my grandson took me to the in town firework show.
That was a first for me!

Looks like a perfect day for the 4th~

There was low rumblings from one of the towns but no neighbor driving me crazy with their display this year. That is a big rig. It looks like a nice afternoon with friends, even in the heat. You are braver than I am.
