We did not catch a break in the humidity today.
Still picking tomatoes....
I had a couple of huge peppers that were starting to get soft so I sautéed them with a couple onions and will throw in some Italian sausage tomorrow.
Gary spent a lot of time outside reading one of the Grisham books I brought home from the library.
Late afternoon our friends, Chris and Vickie (who are from Oregon visiting family in Brockport) stopped in to drop off a magazine that had an article in it about my cousin Jim Belushi.
He lives about 30 minutes from their home and Vickie met him at an event that he held several years ago in support of the firefighters who worked so hard when over 2,000 homes were lost. Have you ever seen his TV show on the Discovery Channel? "Growing Belushi," a reality TV show.
At 6 we headed down to the Finks for Andrew's Annual BBQ. He comes home from NYC every August (except for the Covid years) to host this, treating us all to the best of the Dinosaur BBQ.
Alicia does a great job helping Andrew put this together.
On the left is Michelle, Andrew's wife.
These two have been best buds for several decades!!!
The Burch's could not make it and sent flowers to Alicia.
Gary and I were able to catch up with Michelle's parents.
Can you see Scott?
Yum! Pulled Pork, BBQued Chicken, Ribs, corn, salt potatoes, tomato salad and cornbread!
What a feast!
And after dinner, Lugia's ice cream truck provided us with dessert!
Many of those invited grew up with our kids and several were my students at Brockport High School. I love catching up with them.
Thank you Andrew and Michelle...
and Alicia and Herb. Another main event!!!
Night all.
