The knats were out this morning so masks were put on the horses.
Of course Rebel and Elliott wanted to roll and get them off.

Gary drove in to Charlotte to pick up several flats of San Marzano tomatoes grown by our friend Ed. C.
He also brought home some basil and parsley.

Sophie is frequently found under the boards that hold the plants.

Jenny and Scott were coming to dinner and my contribution was to be a rhubarb pie and a salad.

Gary started planting the tomatoes in our kitchen garden....

and I made the pie.

The cats have not discovered the new location for their condo, but seem very comfortable in their chairs topped with comfy pillows.

I watched the Preakness and then did evening chores.

Jenny made a new dish tonight....a Greek lasagna with a bechamel sauce.  Spectacular!
This was our belated Mother's Day dinner.

Too full to have dessert, so I sent some pie home with Jenny and Scott.
Night all.

Oh the gnats! My mules have always made it a game to see how they can destroy another mule's mask for flies.
Love summer, hate fly season.
I dowse their ears with some essential oils to try and help with gnat control. They prefer to run through the brush or roll in a good pile of dirt.

Looks like things are coming along nicely!
