The morning started out bright and freezin'.
I played bridge at 1....
Lorna's house was full of decorations.
This is her dog Birdie. She spent a couple of weeks with us many years ago while Lorna and Dan were on vacation. I don't know if she really remembers me, but she sat under the table at my feet.
This was my last hand. Pretty sad, right Sally?
Went out to do chores and I knew it was bad news when the gate to Moon's run in was not closed.
Apparently Maggie blasted it open (she has been going up to it lately, butt first) and she and Moon had another very serious kick fest before I even got out there. Moon got the worst of it and the vet is out there now stitching her up. She also cannot put weight on her right hind. That's it. Maggie and Angel are going to spend the rest of the winter in the indoor with the outdoor as their paddock. That way I know Angel will get out of the weather and Moon will not be tempted to get in any more battles. During the past 32 years here I have never had to deal with two more feisty mares (or geldings). Poor Moon is really hurting...Maggie, not so much.
Anyway...I was not in the mood to take pictures and dinner did not exist.
Hopefully Moon will be ok...stall rest is in her future.
Night all.

Oh, man, that is bad news. I saw your post title and thought Berlin had hives again. This is much worse and must be so frustrating as you have tried so hard to keep all the horses happy and safe. Those two really seem to have it out for each other. I hope Moon is okay.
Oh, that is not good at all, but your plan might solve any further problems. What an end to the day. Hope tomorrow is so much better all round. Greetings from Jean.
Just a beautiful view :)
Not good I hope she heals quickly. How frustrating.
I am so sorry to hear about the kick fight-I understand, though-this is what my mares are like (at least some of them) which is why I cannot have all of my herd together either. It is such a shame-their lives would be so much better if they all got along. I wonder what makes them dislike each other so much? Poor little Moon-please give her a special hug from me!
I am ready for the fluff stuff to go somewhere else and here we are supposed to get more tomorrow.
Ilike your photos of the horses.
Oh, I'm sorry to hear this...I hope Moon is going to be alright and have so residual effects. Poor girl. Sounds like your plan might work though, anything to keep them all safe.
Oh no! trying to catch up on everyones blogs and YOU dont need this right now!! Please Moon, be well soon!
Love the blog, such great pictures!
