Serendipity

What an interesting day!

Morning chores as usual.

A few days ago I got a call from a woman named Wendy Cooper.  My friend Andrea M. recommended me for a HEALTHY HIGHWAY farm tour, as Wendy had already taken a group to Glen Darach Farm.  The goal is for children and their families to experience nature and all things farm.
Wendy arrived at 10am and while we were touring the Studio she got a phone call from a friend who was going to join her.  When she gave our address, her friend said "that's the Skoog Farm." Ironically, it was Doreen W., who we have known for many years.
We toured all the gardens, barns and house.

We pulled rhubarb, Gary picked strawberries, and we unloaded a lot of dill on them.

While we were in the Studio I told Wendy I was in a band and played the baritone ukulele...exactly the instrument she wants to learn to play.  Crazy.  She will be coming out for some lessons.  In the meantime, we will be working on a presentation for these families.  Her program is right up our alley.
Skoog Farm will be on her schedule for July 10th and the kids will be helping Gary harvest his garlic.
When they left, I took it easy for awhile.  Just when I went out to do chores....

Ed Anderson arrived with our annual load of firewood.
It's going to take awhile to get it stacked.

Gary is currently putting an air conditioner in a kitchen window as we are headed for the 90s and humidity.  Not his favorite job
Sandwiches for dinner.
Night all.

Putting a window air conditioner in can be a herculean task. My ancient unit is still working as of now. My son's went out yesterday and he said it was a lot less money to by 3 window unit, which he did. We have casement windows, so that won't work. Now, the important stuff...how wonderful you get to participate in this project! You have to be excited.
