YESTERDAY'S NEWS...

Before I went out to the barn, took a practice shot with the camera I used yesterday. Did chores quickly....took a shower and was ready to go at 9:30 when Tina arrived. Picked up Sandy and we were off.

The next series of Walnut Hill shots were taken by Tina...

This is Sue Zuber. She is one of my art students.

Here are Laurie, Andrea and Torie in the Wicker Phaeton class.

They all have to line up at the end of the class.

Below is Nicole Cable and a young friend. Instead of eating at the table, they chose to have a picnic on the blanket while they played Parchesi (how do you spell that anyway?).

This is probably the only day that Laurie and Andrea ate lunch....it was part of the class so they had to! Looks like I lost the photo!

Another example of classic turnout....

As you can see, there are people of all ages who compete in this sport.

There is a field that we pass by on the way to Walnut Hill that is covered with acres of sunflowers. Here is my shot of Tina taking the 3 photos that are posted below.

Got home around 3:30 and was ready to just sit in front of the fan...I pity the horses, drivers, grooms and judges.

A little before 6 we left for Hamlin to have dinner with the Sunquists. Their daughter was visiting from SC and Arlene prepared a fabulous meal.

She did something in one of her gardens and I would like to steal the idea. A birdbath was filled with shells and sat amongst the flowers.

Speaking of flowers....

Randy built this shed himself...I would like to move it to our house.

This Tiger Lilly dazzled me....

I brought my usual salad....

and Gary packed up a nice basket of onions...we had a great time with good friends.

I always forget that you are an artists, until I look at your photos. Wow.
And those HATS! I am a hat collector--though there is nowhere to wear them now--and Sue Zuber's hat is making me CRAVE a place to wear mine, and hers. That's one thing I miss living here: fancy horse and dog events where you can wear a nice hat, feed people out of the back of your car on fancy linens, and watch the critters all day long in the sunshine! It's a silly cultural thing to hang onto, I know, but your beautiful photos remind me of it.
I admire the skill of those elegant drivers. They make what is NOT easy look that way.
By the way: YOu have been nominated for a Blogger's Choice Award. Readers of Skoog Farm Journal: VOTE!
