THE ROYAL TREATMENT....

I woke up a little after 6am and the sky was pink. Let the dogs out and went upstairs to put fresh sheets on a couple of beds...then I did a little ironing and got ready to go out to the barn.

It's a good thing there is a little color in the gardens, as the Garden Tour will take place on Sunday.

Gary continues to weed and edge each day.

When I got in, my friend Judy had left a message that she wanted to take me out to breakfast for my birthday...so, in my barn clothes once again...we went down to the Bergen Family restaurant.

A car was parked out front and had a little tiny card in the back window that said "For Sale-$85,000." What do you think?

This sweet man is Alvin A. He and his long time friend John S. were in the restaurant for some mid-morning coffee. Gary used to grow garlic at his farm.

You've been here with me before...such a great townie joint!

When I got home it was time to mow the lawn. Did everything but the lane. Had an appointment in town and came back to do chores.

The ponies and I are loving this cooler weather.

Today Gordon B. came up to rototil the gardens. My ring was still partially under water, so it did not get done.

Gone are all the tomato and strawberry plants. We have beets and peppers left in the garden above.

In the big garden we still have zucchini, banana peppers, corn and a possibility for eggplant. Who knows.

Here are Gary's boots and hat...I don't know where he is.

Went in to grab a quick shower around 5:45, as we were invited out to dinner by Jack and Louise. His birthday was on the 25th, and for the past 5 years they have gone to the Macaroni Grill. We have not been there before.

Great food (of course I forgot to take pictures)....

Nickie, our waitress, was terrific....

They had a wood burning fire for their homemade pizzas.... We had full dinners, however.

A very nice evening...home by 9:30. Put the horses in and here I am. Tired. Night All!
