Freedom

A different kind of day.  After morning chores we cleaned the house, I made bean salad and Gary grilled chicken as we were having company for lunch.

Ronin gets a lot of grain at each feeding and he was not finishing it, so Janet put it in a feed muzzle and that took care of that.  He was used to being fed that way at his previous farm....nothing that I was familiar with.
I put a flake of hay in front of his run-in so The Rebel and his pony would keep him company.  It proved to be a nice quiet start to the day.  They are really doing much better.

I love having a load of this bean salad in the frig.  It lasts a long time and is so delicious.

This morning we had two more gorgeous blossoms.

The scrawny geranium has perked up a lot.
Gary got the chicken done just in the nick of time.
Al and Brenda arrived at 12:30 and I served gigantic Greek salads.  Mixed greens, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, onions, Greek olives, chickens and feta cheese.
Brenda brought a pineapple upside down cake for dessert.
After lunch we went out to check on Ronin.

This sweet boy stood at the fence for a long time waiting for Janet to drive in.
Meanwhile back in the house, we played a little Mexican Train.  It did not take long before we all felt like it was nap time.
Evening chores at 6:15.

For the first time, we let Ronin do some exploring before going into his stall.

As expected, Rebel did not want him near his stall.

After checking out all of the pastures and the indoor on his own....he figured out to go in the barn to his stall.  What a smart boy.
Not making dinner.
Night all.

Rebel has ownership rights! That lunch made me want to dive into the screen. Really.
