A LIFELONG FRIEND

Brrrrrrrrrrr....it was in the low 20s this morning.

After chores I drove down to Agape and had a full fledged workout.  Felt good.
When I got home, picked up the house....vacuumed etc.  Gary helped.
Made a quick batch of minestrone and an apple pie.

At 3:13 (after a drive from Boston) two visitors arrived.  Dave P. and Gary have been friends forever and after high school and college spent some time in California together.  The good old days.

Today he and his daughter Sara stopped for a couple of hours, on there way to visit relatives in Jamestown.  We enjoyed our soup, pie and lots of conversation.
Then it was outside for a tour of the farm.

I scooted out to do chores....notice the filthy blankets.
 Rolling...rolling...rolling.

Back in the house for more talk....

Then they were on their way.
I had not met Dave in person before, but had spoken to him many times on the phone.  A real nice way to spend the afternoon.  Connecting with old friends is good.
Night all.

What a great afternoon! Gary had mentioned to me that he was in California in the past but I didn't know when or why or who with. Mystery solved.

I think Sara made some equine friends on your farm :)

True friends, you might not see them for a long time, and you can just pick up where you left off, in an instant. we are fortunate if we have, so the pundits say, 5 really true friends in a lifetime.NOTE, this was way before blogs existed.it needs to be re-done!!! Lovely photos, your temp is about our -5 Celsius. Very cold for us here. Keep warm. Greetings from Jean.

Oh that sounds wonderful Old friends are the best they stir memories of forgotten youth.
Love the pic on Sarah's phone.
Have a nice weekend, I hope that is not snow on your ground but only a heavy frost. B

Old friends and apple pie - it's a good combination. Those horse blankets are spotlessly clean compared to ours. I have two little piggies!
