Mornin'. Back in the feed room.
Orders from headquarters... who gets what.
Gar helped me with chores. We were finished by 8:30....FAST.
It's so nice that all 6 horses are comfortable eating hay under the shed roof...who cares if it rains?
Gary headed down to Java for coffee. I loaded the pups in my car and returned two harnesses to Jane over in Hulberton. On the way home we stopped at the Farm Market where I bought some corn on the cob. Gary already picked up tomatoes and peas.
It was raining when I got there, but it eventually stopped.
Jack M. was there with Lucy...she was picked up by the dog catcher a couple of years ago and had a litter of pups at the pound. All were adopted and he took her. A sweet girl.
Regardless of the weather conditions, people show up for some very good deals on fresh produce.
The peaches have been exceptional this year.
One of the vendors had buckets of sunflowers.
These two Field Spaniels go to the market every Sunday....a brother and sister.
Now I'd like to give you a view of the backs of some buildings.
Gazillions of wires....
But a little European looking.
Wouldn't it be nice to have the electric underground?
This skinny building houses a Pub next to the Canal.
Check out that old Ivory Soap sign.
I parked at the Welcome Center so I could catch some shots of the activity (and ducks). Gary had Harbor Duty tonight and there were 14 boats registered. That's a good night. Many of them were very large...and as usual, the people were very friendly and appreciative of all that is available to them.
The garden looks like it was hit with some miracle grow...but instead, it was horse manure. The tomato plants are over four feet tall.
We have three zuchini plants and they are producing like crazy.
The corn that Finn and Coop planted is now about six feet tall.
The dill is keeping up with the corn.
Look at those onions! We have three varieties and they are DELICIOUS.
This afternoon I did some weed wacking and mowed two pastures, while Gary did some serious work in the gardens. They have to be in mint shape before the Garden Tour August 30th.
Evening chores took no time at all....grained and fed hay to the horses...picked the pasture.
No more rain.
Things are looking pretty quiet.....
Eventually the horses went back out to the pasture...
and Gucci, Phoebe and I went back to the house.
At 6:45 my friend Judy called and invited me to dinner...Gary could stop on his way home.
Took a quick shower and got there by 7:10 for another great meal. We ate on her enclosed porch.
Is this not a classic setting for summertime in Western New York?
Got home a little before 10 and put the horses in. Now I need some couch time.
Night all!

That would be a classic setting for a meal anywhere, Lori.
I looked closely at your "chore chart". Did you come up with all the ingredients and amounts or are these suggestions from a vet? Seems like such a complicated regimen.
Love the gardens. So much, so big, so tasty.
I'm beginning to think this is a fake blog. There is no way you get as much done every day as you do. I'd be 6 feet under!
;-)
The plants are looking good Grandpa,Finn, and Coop! I can't wait to see you! Talk to ya later! Love ya,
Ariana
