And The Rains came....

Much cooler today.

Finished chores very quickly.  Such efficiency!
See this tree?  We planted it for our grandchildren and it has grown to this height.  Now they range in age from 19-25!
Gary's raised beds continue to go nuts!  The conditions have been just right for growing.
Our new little apple trees, that Gary planted about a month ago, are sporting three apples.  Amazing.
This afternoon I was in the mood to make something with the polka kilbasa I had in the frig.  Sautéed an onion with it, added carrots, cabbage, potatoes and 1 1/2 cups of chicken stock....salt, pepper and celery salt.  And a shot of cider vintager along with a little brown sugar.  The kitchen smelled so good.
Instead of taking a nap this afternoon, I got my old Toro Lawn tractor out of the indoor and wanted to see if it still was capable of mowing,  It has been in there for the past year and was used to drag the ring.  The blades were not the greatest, but it enabled me to get down the grass and buttercups that have grown quite a bit.  Scott has the old John Deere for repairs and that is supposed to be the mower for the pastures.  Still waiting to get it back and do not want to use the new JD.

As per usual, the boys assisted.

As I was finishing, it got darker and darker to the south.

Gary picked another quart of strawberries, which I prepared and put in the freezer.  One container for us and one for Jenny.

Three new blossoms today, but only one photo turned out.  Took this one while it was pouring like crazy.

Dinner was delicious.  By then it felt so cold outside this turned into the perfect meal.
Called the boys in just before 8.  Fortunately the rain stopped.  Gary said we got 7/10ths of an inch this afternoon.
Night all.

Rain is better than no rain?

Looks like everything is moving right along for you. Our evenings have been chilly and our days nice and temperate this year. So far it has been a perfect spring.

We've had a few rainless days. Yippee. I had some hay delivered yesterday, it really got long. There won't be the same problem as we had the last 3 years. The tree grew like the grandchildren.
