A Serious Cool Down By Late Afternoon

Rebel was looking pretty good this morning.

After chores Gary and I went down to the Farm Market.  Not too much that I was interested in and just bought tomatoes and a cucumber.

He wanted to go to the Diner afterward for breakfast.
These gorgeous hydrangeas are a long the park fence next to the Diner.

The boys were very happy to have cooler weather and stayed in the pastures much of the day.

Didn't feel that great this afternoon and took it easy.  Cottage cheese and fresh peaches for dinner.
Evening chores at 8.

Rebel had no trouble walking in, and I took off his boot for the night.  I loaded his stall with extra shavings yesterday so it would be nice and soft for him.

Night all.

Rebel Is Improving

We had almost an inch of much needed rain today.  I covered myself with an umbrella when I went out to the barn...Little Wonder got wet.

I was trying to get a video of Rebel moving, but he decided to stop and eat.

All kinds of flowers were blooming today.

I made a quick trip out to Glen Darach Farm to pick up a good soaking boot for Rebel.  It makes the job so much easier.  It's the same one I used on him last year.

Gary put the three big hibiscus plants on the table this afternoon so they could have a nice bath.  There used to be a gigantic pine tree there (the table is mounted on the stump) and we divided the roof in two so it would not have to be cut down.  Eventually it had to be done.

Little Wonder and I watched a new Netflix movie this afternoon...."A Family Affair."  It was ok and good enough for me to stay awake.

Gary did some yard work between raindrops and also started getting the bailing twine ready to use when he hangs the garlic.
Dinner at 6:30.  We still have lettuce so I made a salad with blueberries, green grapes, bananas and poppy seed dressing.
Gary grilled some chicken and I had already made a sweet potato salad.
Both horses were in the rain much of the day and they both had no masks on tonight.  Fortunately I was able to locate them and now they have been washed for tomorrow.
Rebel was moving pretty well much of the day and tonight he was still ok.

Night all.

Not Again!

A beautiful day....may rain tonight.

This morning Rebel seemed a little off on his front right and by the time I finished mowing the pastures it was worse.

Finished around noon.

I took a break and then went back out to soak and wrap him. Had left the grooming room door open while I went to the other barn and when I got back each sweet boy was in a stall!  That was handy.  They must have thought it was going to be a spa day.

Bending over to soak and wrap him really does a number on my old back....but it was necessary.

Finished a little after 3, took a quick shower and we went down to the Morgan Manning House to celebrate the life of Sarah W.  We were neighbors when the kids were little and now the grandkids are all grown up

Gary and I both took naps when we got home and I went out for chores a little after 8

Rebel gimped into his stall and I gave him some bute.  Hope we can get a grip on this sooner than later.
Now!  About the debate last night....

A very sad commentary on our options for President.  Trump was his usual outrageous self and Biden was so off.  He tried to get an awful lot of  information in so fast he kept screwing things up and sure looked like he was whipped.  Trump did not know how to answer a question and was full of lies.  He does not deserve to be President no matter who his opponent is.  After all the newspaper headlines and commentaries full of panic....I saw a long clip of Biden in North Carolina (after the debate) and he was back to his normal self.  He said he was old, but he always told the truth and was confident he could carry on.  It's going to take a very strong effort to convince people he can do this, but it just might happen.  If he and Trump are the two candidates, this country is going to have to think long and hard about what the future is going to bring.  Once again, we are in deep tapioca.
Night all.
