The Pond is Back in the Pasture

The high today was 47 degrees....and boy!  Did we get a lot of rain.

By the time Janet and I finished cleaning and setting up the stalls, it had started to pour.  The horses chose to hang out in the big pasture and they were so soaked I called them in.

They were back in their stalls until late afternoon.  I had waterproofed Seamus's sheet and it sure wasn't working very well.  Took it off and put his blanket back on.

Today we were supposed to have a new refrigerator delivered so I hurried back in to empty our old one and Gary bleached the whole thing so it could be removed and donated to an organization in Batavia.  Surprise, surprise!  I called and asked about the time for delivery and was told they were not coming.  "Oh, didn't anyone call you?"  Duh!  The answer was no, and it has been sitting in their warehouse since last Wednesday.  Why didn't they call and deliver it last week?  Now the three guys who make the deliveries all have Covid.  Great!  So, we had no choice but to put everything back in the frig.  I let them know how I felt about their lack of communication skills.

At one I was down at the library playing bridge....always enjoy this.  On the way home the sky was changing.
I got a couple things done for dinner, soaked beet pulp, cut up a couple carrots and was back out in the barn by 4:30.  By then....wow!  The light was sensational.  Janet had turned the horses back out and once again we picked the stalls and set them up for the night.

Can you see the pond in the photo below?  That's how much rain we got between 9 and 3.

Little Wonder was happy not to be wearing his black coat.

The ponies chose to hang out on the hill behind their barn.

Got the ponies tucked in and went back in the house for dinner.  Chorizo sausage with peppers and onions on a ciabatta roll with a side of leftover coleslaw.  I never have much time to cook on bridge days.

Night all.

What a story about the refrigerator! Customer service lacks some days. Just when I think I hadn’t heard anyone having Covid in a while, now I hear that three delivery people have it. Stay safe in this wind tonight. Kathy

What a foul up that was. Did they tell you when you can expect delivery? You got a lot of ran. The light was translucent. Dinner may have been quick but it looks good.
