The farrier was supposed to come today....guess who is lame? This is the third year in a row. 9/23...7/24....and today! Damn! After I finished the stalls I brought Rebel in and soaked his foot for over half an hour. He fell asleep and did not move an inch. So much for having their feet done.
He had a royal Spa Day and was groomed the entire time. I got so much hair off his legs! That boot works a lot better than putting his foot in a bucket.
Buddy was very patient, and he got groomed too.
Last summer I got these boots for Rebel and never used them. Figured I would give one a try today and getting it on was a real pain. After I got his foot situated I could not get the zipper all the way up.
Ended up putting a velcroed over reach boot over the top and he kept it on all day....moved fairly well and had 1 gram of bute this morning. Is this an abscess? A bruise on his thin soles? Can't believe what it is going to take to get him through this.....AGAIN!

Gary had to have a couple things done by the dermatologist this morning and got back home around 1:30. Little Wonder and I had some quiet time.
So did Seymour and Sidney. Very rare that they are this close together.
I made a quick trip to Wegmans (diapers for Rebel), Country Max (more sole pack) and some bread at Aldi's.
Around 3:30 I went out to check on Rebel and he was moving better than I expected.
Par boiled a lot of chicken...prepared some for Wonder, Sid and Seymour...then put the rest in the freezer. Also topped off a big salad with some of it. That was our whole dinner and it was delicious.
Chores at 7:45. The entire day was full of sunshine.
That sunset glow was back again.
Night all.

Oh no! I was thinking about you yesterday when I had our farrier out. I don't have any advice for you since lameness can be so hard to diagnose in horses.
Wishing Rebel well.
Rebel is making you an expert on lameness! He was moving quite well, actually. We have sunshine this morning.
