Elliott Has Arrived

Another scorcher.

At 9am our friend Mark arrived to help Gary with the garlic.
They worked well together and got a lot done.
By tomorrow, all of it should be hung and drying.

After chores, Karen drove out to Forrestel Farm to pick up Elliott.
He was transported by my friend Mary H., who has trailered Rebel back and forth.
They arrived around 10:45.
He trailered well and was very calm when he got off the trailer.

Elliott had the smaller pasture and a run-in... Rebel, Angel and Berlin
had the big pasture the front paddock and everything else.
The first day is always pretty exciting.

They spent part of the time grazing.....

and when it was the hottest part of the day
Elliott was in the shade and the other three were baking in the sun
outside his gate.

Rebel tried to say that he was the boss.

Doug N. came up twice today.  Once to rototill the outdoor
arena, and then a second time with another tractor to do
the indoor.  The ground was dry and like a rock.

Karen arrived late afternoon to check out her new boy.
We had dinner before I went out to do chores.

By that time, Rebel and Angel were in by the fan
and Berlin was making time with Elliott.
He didn't care if he was 14 and she was 35.
I put the regulars in their stalls and then we let Elliott explore the entire property
before they were fed.

 He looked around....

 and found the outdoor arena....

 and the water trough.
Berlin kept trying to lure him over to her window.

He finally went into the big pasture....

and then back to the barn and his new stall.
It will take while for him to get into the mix.
Naturally I was roasting all day long.
Night all.

Love has no age boundaries it seems. Looks mighty dry by the dust swirling up,

Silly Berlin :-). Do Elliot and Rebel already know each other? Garlic looks great!
