It's Time To Turn The Corner....

It looked just fine before chores.

By the time I got out to the barn it was grey.....again.
It was very cold last night and the pastures had so much ice in them I kept
the horses in the front paddock so they would not slip and fall.
Berlin got herself back in Maggie's stall after the rest were out eating hay
and closed the gate so she couldn't get out.

Rebel seems to be doing well.  Tomorrow morning he will get a new wrap.

At 11:15 I went down to the Community Center as the Senior Association was having
a pizza/salad lunch that included a surprise shower for Joe Kincaid.  He works there
and the Seniors have really enjoyed all that he has done for them.

He really hit the jackpot....everyone was so generous.
There were around 33 people there and we really enjoyed the pizza

and the salad, which I made.
Joe was truly surprised and very touched.

Before going home I stopped at Wegmans,
and as soon as I got back to the farm I turned the horses out on the small pasture.
The ice was mushy enough I did not have to worry.

It's been a long time since one of the hibiscus plants popped out a blossom.
 Today was the day.

Leftovers, chicken and a salad for dinner.
At 6:30 we drove down to St. Lukes for the first "Cabin Fever" concert presented by the Greater Brockport Development Corporation.
The winter version of Summer Serenades.
Brenda T. introduce the Yale Russian Chorus and we were in for a treat.
Yale has over 40 singing groups and this is just one of them.
During their two week Spring Break they travel around the country
to perform.  Most of the lyrics are in Russian...not so easy to learn. This was their 4th and last concert in the Rochester area.  Tomorrow they leave for Toronto.
Later in the year they will spend to weeks performing in Russia.  This group has been in existence for 65 years!
Listen...

There was a reception afterward and we had the opportunity to converse
with these very personable kids.
We learned a lot about them, and during the performance I really learned about
phrasing and dynamics that we can use when we sing.
A fun, busy day.
Night all.
