Thar She Blows...

It was 30 degrees this morning and the wind started kicking up as the day went on.  So did the snow.

I imagine we are going to have a minimum of 12 inches on top of what is already here.
The Rebel was waiting for breakfast.

After chores I drove down to Brockport to pay the taxes, then made a quick stop at Wegmans.
We're going to have a simple dinner later.  Made a corn salad that I was introduced to by a friend from France (over 40 years ago).  1 can of corn drained, 2 pieces of Swiss cheese diced, 1 big plum tomato chopped, 1/2 of a green pepper ( I had orange and red....the little ones).....
mixed in some home made Russian dressing....
and voila!  Very crunchy.
Also made some sloppy Joes.  I like getting a head start on dinner.
We have not had any dessert around for awhile so I made some rice pudding.
Spent a little time by the fire as the temperature outside got lower and lower.
Late afternoon I went out to check on the horses as it was snowing and blowing and I could not see them.
Once again they were in the furthest back pasture.

When they saw me, they ran in.

We had an earliesh dinner.  Comfort food.

Night all.

Another Calm Before Another Storm

We got into the 40s today and our icy driveway started to melt.

Fortunately Little Wonder was still warm in his red coat.

We rehearsed here this afternoon and had a lot of fun with our 50s songs.
We are learning some new ones and it takes us awhile to learn our parts (since we are making up the harmonies).

Little Wonder listened to the entire rehearsal.
I made a fresh spinach salad and warmed up the rest of
the Roasted Red Pepper Soup for dinner.
Yum.
Snow is on the way.
Almost time to watch Coop's basketball game.
Night all.

Little Wonder Got a Haircut....

A beautiful day after a cold start. Almost 40 degrees this afternoon.

We had plenty of good light.

I hurried through chores as I had a doctor's appointment in Greece at 10:15.  For almost two months I have had a weird taste in my mouth...started off like metal, then seemed more like a drainage problem.  Tried a couple things with my Doctor and decided to go a step further and went to this one.  My own diagnosis....it is related to Covid.  I've had all my shots and am wondering if somewhere along the line I actually had the virus with no symptoms.  Many people I know have had similar symptoms..some say their coffee tastes burnt, or they smell smoke, or there is a sulphur taste.  Who knows?  It has started to subside and I sure hope it goes away.  I have never lost taste and can smell everything.  Have any of you had this happen?  At this point, nothing can be done about it.

Took my last shots of Little Wonder before dropping him off at the groomer's.
I love this scruffy look but he was starting to get mats and needed a bath.

This is his after look.  He smells so good and his coat feels spectacular.

Seeing that it was 4:45 before I got home, we had a simple dinner.  Pancakes, sausage and steamed apples.  Real Maple Syrup is the best!

I woke up at 4am and really need a nap as I could not fall back to sleep.

Night all.
