Shedding

Crazy weather again.  Last night we had high wind warnings and the power went off for a very short time.  It was in the 50s when I got up and made it to 64.

Tomorrow morning it's supposed to feel like -6.   How will these poor plants survive?

Our daughter, Stephanie, left Kansas City at 9am and is on her way to Rochester by train.  She will get here tomorrow at 10am.  A nice little adventure.
The wind was still going nuts when I went out to see Buddy a little after 3.
By 3:15 the temperature had dropped to 41 degrees.  Kathy gave him a break from his blanket while it was warm and he rolled his brains out!  He was shedding and had an hour long grooming.

Of course I brought along some carrots and apple slices
I swept out a stall next to Buddy's so we can put more hay there from our barn.  He was on the outside looking in at me.

I'm glad they were smart enough to get out of the elements.

He had his head out the door when I left and was keeping an eye on me.
Home to a nice fire after making a quick stop at Wegmans.

Not in a cooking mood again.  Eggs, bagels and OJ for dinner.

I just got a call from our local utility company warning us there may be outages tonight because of the strong winds.  Fortunately Gary brought a lot of wood up to the porch in case we lose our heat.
Night all.
