When I fed the horses this morning, didn't Rebel have some blood on his left nostril! I washed it off and he seemed good until evening chores and it showed up again. The 14 days of antibiotics may not have done the job and it will not be a picnic if we have to go through that again.
Right after morning chores I started mowing the pastures before the grass got so long I would have to bale it. I'm sure many people don't mow as much as I do (once a month) but I want to get rid of the buttercups and minimize tick opportunities.
The boys kept me company.
Alice arrived at 10:15 for Spa Day.
Buddy and Rebel were very relaxed and enjoyed their massages.
A couple weeks ago Rebel came in with a ton of black fly bites on his chest, sheath and belly. His sheath was really swollen and that has finally gone down, his belly is fine and he keeps rubbing his chest ( no bites are showing). His hair just started growing back and didn't he rub a spot while he was waiting to get groomed.
Gary has be working non stop in the gardens.
For some reason these particular tulips have outlasted all the others. They are huge.
How about the crazy sky?
It took me forever to mow the pastures. Gary had to go get more gas and I still have to do the outdoor arena tomorrow.
Grilled burgers and Mac salad for dinner. Simple.
Went out for chores at 8:30.
Buddy was in his wandering mode.
I am so dirty and full of grass I can't wait to take a shower.
Night all.

Good to hear that Rebel is recovering from his issues. I wonder if it was an allergic reaction to a bug bite. On sheaths, we used to clean them at least once a year for our geldings. Most of the guys were pretty good about it and we had a cleaner goop we used. Yucky but necessary job.
Now I have mare mules and they don't require that.
With the Northern Lights, you can't always see them with the naked eye and have to use your cell phone to photo and see it. We had smoke here so we really couldn't see stars either even though we had no clouds.
