This was just not a picture taking day.
Another one of those headless horseman mornings.
Sidney and the pups joined me in the barn.
At 9 Sally arrived to pick up some of my new cards, so I took a break from cleaning stalls and went in for a nice chat.
When I went back out to finish chores, L'orange joined me.
A little before 11 it started to rain pretty hard and the horses didn't look all that happy to me.
It was windy, not even 50 degrees and plain ugly out there.
So I put them all back in their nice fresh stalls with a flake of second cutting.
Between the rain and temperature change, I did not want any of them to colic. Better to have them cozy and get turned out later.
Took a shower and then Gar and I went shopping for a nice chair for the kitchen. No luck.
On the way home we stopped at the Lift Bridge Book Store so he could pick up the Buffalo paper and it looked like this.
At 2:30 Mary Pat and Darla came over to discuss a project we have planned for this summer. Once everything is set I will present it to you.
At 5 I turned the horses out and cleaned the stalls AGAIN. They headed straight back to the grass.
When I got in, Gary was ready to make French Toast for dinner. We were given a quart of homemade maple syrup. Yum. Just what I wanted on a night like this.
Who would guess that we needed a fire today...egads! It's almost June.
Night all.

You're in Western NY and I'm in Western OR - and we're having the exact same weather!! We had a fire last evening and it felt wonderful. We're experiencing 50's and rain, with a blustery breeze, but no fog. Yeegads is right!! Have a nice Memorial Day Weekend, and stay toasty.
Yeaaaaa, today I thought I'd ride between rains, like yesterday. No Way! 40 degrees, wind, rain, thunder lightening..them Hail. I got mine in the stable, changed my obviously non- rain proof coat...went out for another horse, Maddy. She almost clocked me, as the hail hit her ears. Changed my coat again, went for the last two..only one would come, so made 2 trips.SOAKED, COLD, I'm in the tub now!
Hang in, I'm just on forced, stay home vacation..missing nothing, I'm hoping.
& watch, it will go like this straight to 80 degrees & humidity, just like what we had here today on long island.
that french toast looks yummy btw!
Brrr, Lori, good photos which made me "feel" the cold and wet weather. You are so good to your animals. Do all horse-owners watch the weather and bring their horses in, I wonder? Great post and lovely cosy French Toast and with a roaring fire at the end! Blessings and (((hugs))) Jo
I can't believe how much rain the Lower 48 is getting. Crazy weather you all are having. We are baking at 75*. Lovin' it and hope it stays all summer! Hope you get some sunshine soon.
It sure has been crazy weather. THe winds here just won't let up.
