THIS AND THAT...

Good Morning....hard frost...bright sun...the outback looked like a place the headless horseman would ride through....

I don't know where the weatherman got his information, but it sure didn't feel like 50 to me.

The horses went to the inner pasture looking for what teeny weenie grass is there and I finished up chores.  No chance for me to take off their sheets...the wind was frigid.
Around 10, the sky turned blue.

After I put Phoebe and Gucci in the house I went across the street to pick up a dozen eggs.  How convenient is that???  Paula raises Corgis, three of whom greeted me.

This bell is outside her porch door.  It's a good attention getter when someone is needed in a hurry.

We have a sign at the end of our driveway...

For some reason, the rocks there were interesting to me.

Now that our pool is filled in, we have to decide what we want to plant over there...maybe some fruit trees...or a flower garden.  The pool house is now called the Cabin.  We have finally started to get things together.  It will be a studio/workshop during the warm weather...unless we install a wood stove.  Need to take out the filter and pump...doll up the inside...maybe put on a new metal roof.

The dogs kept me company when I made a quick trip down to the bank and grocery store.  Got back in time for lunch.

At 1:30 my class started and several of the projects were completed.

Sandy finished a pastel drawing of Joe.  Stunning!!!!

She also finished this painting.

Connie is continuing to study pears (in watercolors).

Marcia is finished with her bird.

Dick has started his first acrylic painting of an Iris.

He made a lot of progress today.

Tina finished the 4th side of the wooden box she has been working on.  This really looks like DJ.

After my class I went out to work with Abbe.

Only two more weeks before she goes out for training.

I put her in a bigger bridle and she seems much happier.

A little comfort food for a late dinner....and now....I'm off for the night.

I showed my husband how Abbe changed directions when you whistled...then I showed him how they all go in the barn. We decided maybe you should come here and train our children! :)

The art work is fantastic as usual, and the foggy field looks wonderful.

Over at Ishtar's ark, Sahara is the clever one whom you can actually train pretty much like a dog. She gets "words" REALLY quickly and Anette and I have to spell the word g.a.l.l.o.p when we're thinking of doing it, or Sahara has already launched into it. But she's starting to pick that up too! She knows "OK, Sahara, run around the house!" as well as "OK, Sahara, back to the horseyard!" Arwen never reacts on the vocals but I'm not sure if that's her knowing she has a special place in my heart, or her just not caring for what we say. In any case, I get the feeling that our girls (Isolde & Kalahari) are learning for the dominant mare (Sahara) and sometimes they just stand there watching us, looking as if they can't wait for us to go: "OK everyone, run around the house!" Lol, even the goats want to join!
