A little warmer today.
After chores Gary set things up on the back porch so we would be ready to make pickles when Jenny, Scott and Sabine got here at 9:30. It was like an assembly line.
We had washed and sterilized all the jars, the garlic was peeled, the dill was ready and so were the peppercorns. Scott and Sabine cut up the cucumbers after Jenny washed them.
Gary made at least four batches of brine.
There were 24 quarts, and fortunately not one was broken during the canning process.
We had a little goat cheese on crackers topped with some of Leslie's pepper jam for a snack.
Dan and Amy Hawkins stopped up for some bee balm plants and they joined us for awhile.
After they left, we had Naan bread pizzas and a salad for lunch out on the porch.
We were ready for a nap. Gary, Little Wonder and I snoozed while Sabine did some reading, spent time with the horses and filled up all the hay nets for the next few days.
Chores were done early as we were joining Jenny, Scott and Finn for dinner at Grampa Sam's at 6:30.
Jenny is leaving for a conference in Canada tomorrow so it was her last night with Sabine and she gave her a t-shirt while we were there.
As per usual, all of our meals were fantastic.
These two were pretty sad having to say goodbye. They are very close and have had such a great time over the past couple of weeks.
Night all.
