Too hot for me. It's a good thing it started out cooler and there was a breeze.
Buddy and Rebel were both in the same stall this morning and ended up eating breakfast in each others.
I put hay in the run-in and the fan was on all day.
Late morning our friend Ed stopped in for some garlic. Visiting from Maryland. He and Gary went out to lunch.
Little Wonder and I worked at staying cool in the kitchen.
I drove Gary down to the Welcome Center around 5:30 for Summer Serenades and LW joined me.
He was in the front seat getting his hair blown by the air conditioner.
Got home. Grabbed a bite. Fed him and the cats. Then the horses.
Changed my clothes and went down to the concert. Tonight it was the MIDNIGHT CRUISERS. Never heard them before, but the sax player/lead singer has played in a different band in our indoor over 20 years ago! Crazy. Considering it was over 90 and muggy I could not believe the turnout.
Jenny had been at a friends house swimming and stopped by on her way home. (The third pool she was in today). She walked to the Welcome Center and then home. She must have gotten in so many steps.
A couple of days ago the Welcome Center was closed until further notice due to a resignation and we were most happy to have it back open in time for Summer Serenades. This man, Don R. was newly elected to the Village Board and worked very hard to get a new director....making all this possible. He has spent a lot of time there during the past few days and understands how important this is to the community and boaters. Hopefully the new Village Board will be listening to their constituents, and will be willing to work together. They got off to a rough start.
Back in 1980 we bought our first horse (Masterpiece of 79) from the Nichols family. Tonight Vicky showed up at the concert and Jenny had not seen her for decades. What a surprise.
Dan Hawkins and his Mom were on duty.
The entire Fenton family was present. Mark and Jenny had a chance to chat.
Carol and Topper were there.
So were the Ketchums and their grandsons.
The list goes on. So many friends.
Another long day. Home by 9.
Night all.

Your community works so hard to keep it vibrant with concerts and festivals along the canal which makes your Welcome Center deserve its name. I hope others realize what a gem It is. The support in this heat last night proves it is appreciated. Kathy
