A Very Busy Day At Skoog Farm

Another marathon post.

Fortunately we woke up to another cool morning.  Both of us were outside shortly after 7 trying to finish getting ready for the Garden Tour.

Rebel and Buddy were very entertaining when I got to the barn.  They were in the opposite stalls and when they saw me, automatically switched to their own.

While I was cleaning his stall, Buddy went back over to Rebel's to see if there were any leftovers.

When I got back to the house I set up the kitchen porch, did some laundry and picked flowers.

My Buddy was in and out until it got crowded and too many cars were coming and going.

Jenny and Scott arrived at 10 to see if there was anything they could help with and left around 11:30. Finn and Coop were here for a couple of hours starting at 11 and they were extremely helpful with car parking, answering questions and showing people around.

I had the Studio open and put in about 5 CDs with some great music.  Many people checked it out.
We had around 70 visitors and there were 6 homes on the tour.

It was very steady and Gary received many compliments.
I wish you could have seen these boys in action.  Their communication skills are excellent and they impressed so many people.  Grampa has been a great mentor and they have learned so much about manners and responsibility.  They did a lot of work helping him in the gardens over the past few weeks and I think Gary just wanted to show them off.  They are so appreciated and loved.

The horses even had some visitors!

After everyone left we went down to Sara's Garden Center for a short reception.

Such a magical place....and so peaceful.
We had not eaten all day so at 5 we went to Barber's for a sandwich.
Crashed when we go home and I went out for chores a little before 8:30.  The temperature was still respectable.

Gary was ready for bed by 9:45 and I will be following shortly.  He will really enjoy not gardening for a long time!
Night all.

Hosting a garden event takes so much background early work, then the TWO wonderful lads, and ONE slightly older lad, any good grandson is a treasure, for you and for us down here. That's a huge crowd to attend. Rest tomorrow.

You have such a beautiful farm. Wish I lived closer to see it in person!
