Lunch Break

When I went out for morning chores it was not quite 60 degrees and felt so good.

Rebel and Buddy must love being outside all night as cleaning their stalls has become a piece of cake.

After the vet was here on Monday ($$$$$$$) I made the decision to declare both horses retired....period.    Called Equestrian Imports in Florida to see about selling my dressage saddle (Albion SL).  It's an 18"with a medium wide tree and in great condition.  Black.  If you know anyone looking, let me know.
So...after chores I went into the grooming room and cleaned out a ton of stuff.  3 brass saddle racks, a pony harness, leather lead lines, a wool cooler, bits, boots, leg wraps, quilts, 2 hard hats and a lot more stuff.  Took it out to Andrea at Glen Darrach Farm so she or someone can make use of it.  She has always been there for me when I have needed help or advice and I don't feel like trying to sell it.  I stopped and got us subs for lunch and brought iced tea, fruit and pretzels.  We sat down under an umbrella in her back garden and had time for a good talk.
Cindy was there clipping Studly. He sired my POA, Abbe....who passed many years ago.
Of course I had to check on Hamish and Polly.
He's just about 3 months old and has reached almost 14 hands.

His color is changing drastically and he will end up being grey.

Polly is such a beautiful tank.

Stormy.
Wallace.
Lola.
By the time I left the temperature had reached 82 degrees and the humidity kicked in.
Got home around 2 and did not do much.
Took a nap and decided to do chores before we ate dinner.
The boys were behind the indoor in the shade and by then it did not feel too bad.

For some reason, Little Wonder was game to join me.

Dinner was simple and yummy.

Night all.

PS
Today it was Scott's birthday.  Something to celebrate!

When I clean out the tack there will be about a 100 loose bits as hubby collected them at auctions and generally purchased ones that were very unique or hand made. Saddles galore, and lots of bridles. I don't look forward to that job!

I have a ton of cleaning to do before I can even think of letting most of the stuff go.

We are on the same wavelength. I have been thinking about a backroom full of saddles, bridles and myriad other things. I also started thinking about selling the horse trailer.
We were tropical yesterday, the dew point was 78 decrees! I've told the weather to leave you alone, but you know how that goes. Dinner looks pretty good to me.

Making the decision to retire both horses could not have been easy. Hugs to you for recognizing that now is the best time for everyone involved. Good luck with the saddle, it sounds wonderful!
