Time to give it a try.
First, breakfast was served.
(This is Rebel's bucket)
I placed six piles of hay in the front paddock and turned the horses out.
All of the horses.
They did not want the hay and went straight to the pasture, so I went with them and stayed there for about 40 minutes.
When Karen arrived, she took over and I cleaned stalls.
Putting the horses together can be a little scary as they figure out who is Alpha.
Fortunately, it was about body language more than making contact.
Rebel does not need to be near the girls, but he does want to be in the same pasture.
While Karen cleaned her stalls I mowed the smaller pasture so I
could pay attention to what was going on.
When they discovered the outdoor arena was open they all went in to check it out.
Rebel had to roll and his mask came off.
Things finally settled down and I was able to leave them alone.
Jen stopped up in the Green Hornet with a bag of apples for the ponies.
I traded her for eggs and cucumbers.
Gary was busy preparing lattice to go under the front porch.
It will look so much better.
I took a couple hours off this afternoon....went out a couple of times to make
sure there was no excitement taking place in the pastures.
At 6:30 we went down to the Fink home for Andrew's Annual Dinosaur BBQ.
This event has been going on for 11 years!
He and Michelle come home from NYC each August and reunite with many of Andrew's High School friends. We are honored to be included.
The sky was pretty dark, but the rain held off.
(Michelle)
( with Andrew and his Mom, Alicia)
I took a photo of the food and it disappeared!
And that was not all!
They hired Lugia's food truck to bring ice cream for dessert.
The Finks sure know how to throw a party!
This plate was in the garden.
Alicia got a new toy from her sister!
Not too shabby.
And so it goes....
Night all.

Looks like they’ve all settled in with no drama.
The mares will eventually be boss of Rebel, I think. He is just being cautious. What a big handsome boy!
