Ain't No Other....

So after I finished posting last night
Little Wonder, Phoebe and I hit the couch to watch the Olympics.
We all fell asleep and woke up at 1am.  Made a trip outside and I put the pup in his crate for the night.  Not a creature was stirring until I got up to go to the bathroom at 6:30am ... took both dogs out in the big yard and Little Wonder did some serious exploring.
Back in for breakfast, then it was time to do chores.
I packed a bag with a blanket, 3 toys and a bowl for water... Little Wonder made his first trip to the barn.  No leash No nuthin.'  He stuck right with me.  Naturally, there was a lot to explore.

I put him in the crate when it was time to let the horses out of their stalls.  He was right next to Berlin and must have thought of her as a dinosaur.
As soon as they were out, he went wherever I went...
and would just sit there and watch me.

When we were done, he kept looking at the horses and I had to
coax him to come my way instead of toward them.

Little by little he and Phoebe are learning to read each other.

Gary continued to work in the back yard and had plenty of time with his new buddy.
It was cool enough to get me goin', so I decided to make my first batch of sauce.

After everything was added to the mix, I dumped it into the crock post and let it go all day.
It's going to take a long time for it to cool so I can freeze it.

Gary had Welcome Center duty and I had friends going to our Sunday Jam for the first time.
Jenny came up to meet Little Wonder and was later joined by Finn and Coop so he was entertained while we were absent.
What a crew we had today.  13 or 14!  A very full sound.
Gary did the prep work for me when I got home, and I made a batch of
 BBQued Green Beans.
It really cooled down by evening and the humidity disappeared.
In between everything, I finished mowing the lawn.
Our friend Jack R. stopped over with some grape samples from his little Vineyard.  Gary did the planting for him 3 years ago and they are really looking good.  Also delicious.
We had a very weird dinner.  Red cabbage slaw, bbqued green beans and leftover fruit salad.
Oh well...it tasted great.
I was thinking about getting a doggy bed to go next to my computer desk, but instead have given this softer than soft fake fur blanket that Auntie Sally gave us to you know who.
He was in it within seconds.

 Night all.

PS
We have never had a puppy or full grown dog like this.  His foster mom brought him to this point just right.  He is happy, loving, smart and listens very well....and he's only 12 weeks old!
I exchanged the harness I had gotten for him (needed to be smaller) and will start working on good manners on a leash.  Phoebe said she would help me with that.
I was amazed that he could manage going to the barn with me this morning.
What a good boy.
Little Wonder Dog.

Oh Lori, what a cute, cute boy LIttle Wonder Dog is!!!! I am so sorry to have missed his arrival, but with the loss of Sheba, and all that's going on, I know you understand. I went back and read your other posts about him, and enjoyed getting to know him! I'm so glad he's getting settled in, and finding his place in the big world, and in all your hearts!! I wish you many happy and fun years with this handsome little boy!!! --I'll look forward to reading about him growing up!!

The pup really is a little wonder! So well behaved for only 12 weeks. Can I send Ginger up there to take lessons from him? She's an absolute terror on paws. Love his adorable little mug what a cutie.

There is just nothing like having a puppy. I so happy for all of you, he is clearly going to fit right in.

Such an adorable, and smart little guy! We've always believed that when you trust them, and give them some little freedoms - they usually make the right choices. He seems like a thoughtful pup that's going to fit right in perfectly. :) Puppies are wonderful!

Little wonder is adorable. I'm so happy that he is doing well, getting with the routine, and slowly making friends with Phoebe. ...that part always takes time.

You get out of them what you put in them. Good work!

He is so precious. So great that he's so well- grounded in obedience and confidence already.
