Ground Bees Are The Worst!

A very nice morning...slow and steady.
Once again, it's that time for colorful sky shots.

This is the first day Sidney let Little Wonder approach him.

After chores I decided to do something with that box of peaches I got the other day.

So I baked a pie crust....
Then I put 4 peaches in the food processor to mash them up....needed two cups.
Added them to 1/2 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons of corn starch and a teaspoon of vanilla.

 Cooked until blended and thick.
 Peeled and slice 5 peaches.
 Layered glaze and peaches.

 Put it in the frig.
Gary came home from coffee at Java ready to go after the ground bees.
Judy gave him this net thingy to protect his upper body and he put rubber bands around his ankles so they would not get inside his jeans.
1st he sprayed.  Then he put down cardboard and newspaper which he topped with mulch.
He really heaped it on, then soaked it with water.
After all that...there are still a few bees out there.
Don't dare to put the dogs in that yard yet and don't know what
is next on the agenda to get rid of them.
I had to pick up a few things at Wegmans...
where I ran into Judy and invited her up for a piece of pie.
Fresh peaches with the glaze are so much better than a baked pie!
I put Little Wonder's blanket on top of his bed and he got lost in it.
 Such a ham.

He attempted to nap on top of me for about half an hour.
Dinner....a veggie stir fry on rice.

I mixed in a little sweet and sour sauce at the end.

Delish except for one thing...the rice did not get soft enough!
After dinner Sidney was not quite so interested in having Little Wonder anywhere near him.

I need a day off.
Night all.

He's so cute. What a little peanut he is next to Phoebe .puppies are a lot of work and I don't foresee a day off any time soon!

. Bees are hard to get rid of. They usually go back to nest at night so if this didn't do the trick Gary might want to wait til they're all in and get them then. The peach pie looks delicious!

Ground bees use existing tunnels under the yard or earth to make their nests and are very aggressive which I obviously don't have to tell you.
They usually are done being aggressive and leave to find a new nest within 4 weeks.
Not that ...that info would be helpful now.
We spray and burn them out, then cover the hole.

Hope you don't have to run into them again!
Love the photos, Little Wonder is cute!

I love that header shot. So cute -- both of them. Ground bees are awful. Good luck!

We've had ground bees here, and thankfully were able to get rid of them before they settled in. Hope you're able to as well.

But Little Wonder has certainly grown "a little" since I last stopped by - Could he possibly be any cuter and any more endearing.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend, and your beautiful pie would help me to forget about the bees and the heat! :-) Take care!!

Wow, what a sunrise, Lori. Puppies are full-time work in the beginning, but then you know that, don't you! He is such a poppet. I love him disappearing in the large fluffy blanket.
