Up and at um extra early today. 5 other drummers and I met in Rochester for the "Making Strides" to end breast cancer event. It's our second year. It was only 38 degrees this morning and we started drumming at 9:30. Had to dress for the weather and we never stopped for 2 and a half hours. Last year there were 10,000 participants...have no idea how many there were today. As soon as they hear us, they immediately start moving to the beat. A very rewarding experience for a great cause.
Pink was in.
These kids were volunteers working the event. They were so cold they never stopped dancing.
Here are just a few of the dancers that joined us.
The rest of the story is in Part II below.
What a wonderful turnout for a really worthy cause, pink everywhere I could see. So glad it all went well. Goodnight... but it is only 4.30 p.m. here..Jean.
