WHOOPPPPEEEEEE.

How sweet it was to wake up to this!  No rain.

This morning Gary delivered Seymour to the Brockport Animal Hospital to be neutered.  I felt terrible withholding food from him, so Sid, Phoebe and Gucci did not eat until he left a little before 8am.  I carried Sidney out to the barn as the mud was deep and he didn't like it.  By the time I finished cleaning stalls, the equipment was in place to start harvesting 100 acres of corn that boarders our property.

The sun and wind should help the pastures dry out.  I put the horses in the back as it was the highest and driest.

Look at that sky!

Even at 30, Pony (Babe's Opal) is one photogenic girl.

I called Monsieur Sidney and he did not respond.  Went back to the house and he wasn't there.  Put my boots back on and went out to the barn...he did not want to go through the mud.

He was much happier on the back porch.  Probably wondered where his buddy was.

While Gary raked the 5 wheelbarrow loads of black walnuts off the front yard, I picked a couple of buckets of English walnuts.  We have never had so many....ever!!!!

After lunch I went down to Apple Creek Farm to mow the lawn and pick up some "drops" (apples) for the horses.  On the way home, picked up Seymour.  He was already purring when I put him in the car and was quite normal acting when we got home.   I'm supposed to keep him in for three days and make sure he is eating and drinking.  Well, no problem in the eating department...no vomiting and playing with Sid.  Keeping him inside is going to be a challenge.

What a sweet boy.  Who would guess he had surgery this morning.

He and his pals kept me company while I did some computer work.  It was another one of those days when the late afternoon sun was so inviting.

"How can I get up on that table with Seymour?"

When I went out to do evening chores the sun was even gorgeous in the barn.
The ponies were tucked in and by 7 I was back in the house.

Gary (and his best friend since kindergarten) left today on a motor trip to the mountains.  They are going to have perfect weather.

Now, I am going to take a hot shower and turn into a veg!
Night all.

Snip snip snip. At least it's easier with boys than with girls. Those walnuts look wonderful. Mmmmm, lots of good chocolate chip cookies with walnuts in your future?

The sun looks so beautiful and inviting. How great would that to be to have all those walmuts. You said Gary was raking the black ones...you can't eat them?
