DRUMMING AND DRUMMING AND DRUMMING

Such a morning!

Barb was here and we zoomed through chores.  It was a little chilly, but before long the sun took the edge off.

Sidney was into hunting...

Barb and I left around 10 to check out a Swap and Shop at a nearby farm.

The place was absolutely jammed!  A therapeutic riding program has now moved there and must have drawn a ton of people.

The only thing I came home with was a pecan pie.

Barb made a major haul.  There she is now, with her arms full.

Went home and let the dogs out .... by 1pm was down at the college with my djembe drum.  On Saturdays there is open drumming.  Needed to get a bag for my drum and was seeking advice.  I ended up drumming for 2 1/2 hours...What an experience!

Khalid is the Master drummer for the African Dance Company....Sankofa.  Because he is very interested in "community," he holds these sessions during the school year and anyone can participate.

The participants range in age from college students to people my age.

Below is Zach.  I was very happy to see him and he was most helpful.  When he was in the 2nd or 3rd grade his Mom boarded a horse and pony at our farm.  He is a very experienced drummer!

I had to leave early, but I did get to order the bag for my drum...would like to go back again.  To be able to play with such experienced people was an honor.

Our friend Clyde (the Director of Sankofa) came in at the end of the session.

And tomorrow!  More drumming with Jeff.  We shall see who returns and if we have any new people.

Back home again and look who kept me company while I was checking out all your blogs.

Sidney has finally started to grow!

We ate dinner...the squash apple soup...and then I went out to do chores.   The sky was still gorgeous...all day long.....

L'orange showed up for his dinner.  Hopefully he is putting on some weight.

It was almost dark when I got back to the house.

Took a shot of the hydrangeas before I closed the kitchen door.

Butt in front of fire time.  Night all.

Great day Lori! Why is L'Orange so skinny?

Wonderful to see such diversity in the drumming group. Also great that the gentleman does these gatherings on Saturdays for everyone.
