Minnesota

Another day from hell brought to you by the current administration.  Anyone who thinks the recent happenings are ok should not come back to read my Journal.  I've had it and it is very upsetting.  We have become a ruthless, unfeeling, aggressive, sick country.  It's time for people who still have humility and ethics to stand up.

This morning it started to warm up but we still had black ice on the driveway.

50% of the snow had melted.
Gary made his usual trek to Brockport.  I did a couple loads of laundry and then went to the bank and Wegmans for a couple of things,  Fortunately I had the opportunity to enjoy a quiet afternoon and caught up with a couple of friends on the phone.  Chores at 5.
The temperature went up to the high 30s and more snow disappeared.

So dreary out there.

Got the boys tucked in....so much warmer in the barn for a change.

Very happy to get back by the fire.

We are fooded out, so I made French toast for dinner.
Had some good news today from Wheatherbeeta (the horse blanket company). Remember the beautiful blankets I got for Rebel and Buddy?  Within 3 weeks the top clip on the front of Buddy's broke.
See it?
I sent these pictures to them and they are going to replace the blanket.  (I can keep the old one too).  No squabbling....a quick response and I'm so grateful!
Night all.

So glad the blanket company agreed to send you a new blanket since the clasp on the other blanket didn't hold up as it should have.
Hope all stay cozy there!

Hugs!

A new blanket, the one bright spot in a week of tragedy/disaster/ strife, world wide, ( I cannot find enough superlative words right now) ,weather that is dire, and so much more, I read your news every day, learning a lot more than on our TV at times. Hope your days warm up.

It disgusts me to see men playing cops and robbers with their guns trying to think they can go after anyone. They have no training. When I hear it’s law and order, I want to vomit knowing this administration released violent Jan 6 offenders who killed and destroyed. Congress better step up and save this country soon from a lunatic who thinks he can just take countries and peoples lives. Kathy

I am devastated, Lori. One year of this regime and look at us. That monster spent two house with Times reporters saying how awful this woman was and that she tried to kill that guy. They showed the video over and over. With his cult the 'tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth'. It's not need anymore. They don't care.

Lethal Force:
(2) to effect the arrest or capture, or prevent the escape, of a person whom the peace officer knows or has reasonable grounds to believe has committed or attempted to commit a felony and the officer reasonably believes that the person will cause death or great bodily harm to another person under the threat criteria in clause (1), items (i) to (iii), unless immediately apprehended.

None of this was followed. An unarmed woman fleeing from officers is no reason to use deadly force.

For the full statutes in MN, here is the link:

https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/609.066

Federal use of Deadly force:
Deadly force may not be used solely to prevent the escape of a fleeing suspect.
Firearms may not be discharged solely to disable moving vehicles. Specifically, firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle unless: (1) a person in the vehicle is threatening the officer or another person with deadly force by means other than the vehicle; or (2) the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, and no other objectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, which includes moving out of the path of the vehicle. Firearms may not be discharged from a moving vehicle except in exigent circumstances. In these situations, an officer must have an articulable reason for this use of deadly force.

PS. The laws are pretty clear.
