The snow has arrived and more is on the way.
The temperature with the wind chill has been below 0 much of the day. Right now it is 13 degrees and feels like 3. The warmest it has been.
I put just a little hay out for the boys while I cleaned their stalls. The wind was back.
Set them up with more hay and warm water and put them back in a little after 9. I see no reason for them to just stand with their with their butts to the wind when they have their suites.
Around 1:30 I let them out of their stalls and they had the run in to move around. More warm water and more hay and then they went back in.
We could get 12 -18 inches of snow so Gary wanted to get ahead of it and worked on the driveway. He also blew a path back to the barn. Of course it will all be blown in by morning.
I spent the afternoon by the fire, talking to a couple friends on the phone. The roads are very bad so we have no plans to go anywhere. Schools will be closed tomorrow.
At 5 Buddy and Rebel went back out and once again they preferred hanging out....waiting to be served their dinners.
No fancy colors tonight. The snow is still coming down.
Jenny brought us some red lentil soup yesterday and that is going to be dinner.
Night all.

The snow here has been sugar snow and far less of it than was thought would fall. We also didn't get the sleet and ice, for which we are grateful. The downside is that it will stay too cold to melt for more than a week.
A high school friend from our years in suburban Chicago wrote to ask if I remembered the 27" snow that fell in less than 24 hours in the Chicago area on Jan. 22, 1967. Oh, yes, I remember!
Be safe!
Hugs!
I'm glad you didn't have to go out into the mess. The horses are so lucky to have such great care!
Wow that is a lot of snow coming your way.
I recall the ice storm of 1965 which was Jan 23-24 and the one from 1967 when my mom was passing out food to neighbors and mixing powdered milk for the kids next door.
Hopefully you will have help with your driveway and get through this mess okay. Crossed fingers.
