MY FIRST ORCHID
This is the first normal day we have had in a couple of weeks. Gary and I are the only ones here and it is very quiet. The Long Beach crew made it home on the train and the Brockport team is visiting relatives for dinner today. We are both very motivated by the sun and tend to work on housecleaning duties...I reorganized the tack room and changed the horses blankets...Gary is out moving manure to the strawberry garden and will chop some wood for the stove. It is very difficult for us to stay inside when spring is in the air. After tomorrow we may get into the 40s. There is a lot of outside work coming up. Have to fill in the inground pool...I have a feeling it will be a great area for some special gardens. Need to take down the stockade fencing and dismantle the woodshed (that a tree fell on)... and Gary wants to put up a greenhouse. This year we are really going to do some serious gardening, and hope to preserve a lot of what we grow...may have to invest in a freezer. Organic crops are the way to go.
