A fairly busy day. Gary had a Doctors appointment and while he was gone I mowed the lawn. It was chilly, but the sun was out. The red tulips on the kitchen table were starting to open up more.
The plant below has been in the house for years and was loaded with ants so we put it outside, cleaned it up, and plan to leave it there until fall. I am blanking on the name of it. 2 words. Have not seen a blossom for at least 4 years. Anyway, it will add some drama to the porch.
While I was mowing the second half of the lawn I let Little Wonder out and he took a hike to the back 40. He was gone for a long time and scared the crap out of me. While I was looking for him, he was on the porch.
At 4 we went down to the Alumni House for First Friday. We had not been to one for well over a year.
It is located near Hartwell Hall...the original building when the college was built.
The place was packed and
they had all kinds of food. Everything from soft and hard shelled tacos to pizza and salad. Did not have to worry about dinner tonight.
Many friends were there.
We ran into Jackie D. (retired from the dance department) and I asked her if Khalid (the drummer who I used drum with many years ago) was in town for the Sankofa Concert and she said he was. All of their performances get sold out, but she managed to get us two tickets for tonight.....thanks to the current Chairman of the Dance Department. We had gone home for a LW break and were back at the college a little after 7.
When Khalid was still teaching at SUNY Brockport I was allowed to go to the dress rehearsals for photo shoots. Not easy to grab a few shots during a performance,
Such high energy.
Many of the past dancers and drummers were here for this legacy performance.
The sky was beautiful when we left.
And it looked like this when we got home. Not bad after a very long and rainy afternoon,
Night all.
