The Grand Opening

Perfect weather all day long.
Sunny, nice breeze, no humidity....about 75.

At 1:30 I drove down to the Town Park for the Dedication/Grand Opening of the Splash Pad.

Thanks to the County and a very generous donor, we were able to install this next to
our all inclusive playground that was completed late last fall (also built with the help of the same generous donor).

The entire area was packed with residents, including many children in swim suits.

If and when summer really arrives, this is going to be a very popular destination.

There were many activities taking place for the children and everyone was able to have
free hot dogs/hamburgers, chips, drinks and ice cream.
Hundreds of people were fed and
our past Town Supervisor was on duty.

This was an outstanding event for all and so good for our community.

I got back to the farm around 4 and was ready for a nap.
As you can see, the fields next to us have been worked up and I am curious as
to what is going to be planted.

 I had chore duty.
The breeze made it very comfortable for the girls today.

Gary loves relaxing on the porch of his shed.

That's about it.
Night all.

PS
As for last night....

16 people were invited to dinner that featured storytelling by Helen (our friend from Scotland, who is visiting her sister).  Unfortunately my pal Hanny and her husband were unable to make it, so the remaining 14 indulged in appetizers and drinks followed by 4 stories.... ending with a delicious dinner.  It was pot luck and everything was off the charts. A rare form of entertainment in our neck of the woods.  I was so tired by 11:30 when I started my post, there was no way the energy was there to do more.  Of course (Tom Root) Gary did all the dishes and he was pretty tired this morning.
Today was nice and quiet by comparison.

Gardens, equine family members, the doggies, and then along came Gary to find a comfy chair just waiting for him.Sunshine and shadows on the lawn, that is a beauty.
