Duck, Duck....Goose

Around 5am we had a lot of thunder and lightning, and by the time I went out to do chores some fog was hangin' low.  Fortunately it did not rain for the rest of the day.

When finished, I decided to pull some sticky weeds.
They love to strangle everything in your garden.

Here they are!  Do you have them where you live?  These are almost 3 feet high and they are choking out the day lilies.  I have no idea as to what they are called, but they are horrendous.

At 9:30 I went down to the village to meet with Jacquie D. regarding a banner for the Summer Serenades concert series at the Welcome Center.  We drove over to take some measurements and got there just as this sailboat was passing by.
Decided that the roof by the stairway leading down to the Canal would be the best spot.  The design is going to be outstanding....you will see it in June.
Pam K., a friend and master gardener, has done a fantastic jobs with the plantings here and all over the place.
There were two ducks hanging out in one of the gardens.

On the way home I stopped at Wegmans and ran into so many people I knew....didn't get home until 12:15!

Gary has a full blown cold but went to work at Sara's anyway (Garden/Nursery).  He got back to the farm just in time for a meeting concerning a water system we want to put in our kitchen.  We have a well, but have not been drinking our water for years.  This should do the trick.
Reverse osmosis.

Chores at 6:30.
After the girls were grained they wanted to go back out...it was cooler and beautiful.

Company coming tomorrow night, so I picked some....you guessed it...
rhubarb... to make a pie for dessert.  It really started bolting early.

Dinner was every man for himself...I had corn salad and a sesame bagel.

When I got in the library to do this post, the sun was on me like a spotlight.
Could not resist taking a couple of selfies...which I have never done before.
Well, maybe that's not true as I have taken many pictures of shadows.

Around 9 I went out to put the horses in.  Berlin and Abbe cooperated and Angel and Maggie refused to get caught!  So I guess they are spending the night outside (they have the indoor and the front paddock).  After 25 minutes, I just gave up.
Night all.

Nope, that's one weed we don't have. We do have a ton of others, though!
Naughty girls, staying out all night!

Reverse Osmosis is one of the very best decisions I ever made - water here in Florida is undrinkable - bottled water can't really be trusted. If yours works as well as ours, you'll be very happy!

Love the pictures of the ducks. Our herd has decided to stay out for the last few nights in the cool weather too.
