The Birthday Boys

40ish and spitting rain off and on.

Took it easy after chores....

and at 1:30 headed to the Hamlin VFW to celebrate two birthdays.  Doug turned 80 and Gary, 75.  They invited 50 friends and set up an amazing party with enough food to feed a village.  Darryl and Ginny were there.

The Road Less Traveled provided the music.

Have not seen Jimmy PennyWhistle in ages.

And the Benders were there.

Then it was time for the birthday cake.

These two guys really know how to throw a party!

We all had blue tongues and teeth from the frosting.

It was raining when we got home and the horses went in a few minutes early.

No cooking..maybe a bowl of cereal.

Finally...Some Sunshine

The temperature got up to 37 or more and there was a little melting, thanks to the sun.

We all needed this break.

It was pretty windy, so we put the hay nets behind the grooming room and some loose hay behind the indoor.  There were also nets under the shed roof and they did not hardly make a dent in them.

This afternoon we had a fire going and I started watching a Netflix series.  My buddies kept me company.

I really appreciate the longer days....so nice to have light.

Tucked in the ponies....

and had the rest of the soup I made yesterday.  There is still not much excitement around here, but we are still supposed to have a gig at the Chili Community Center on Monday.
