Crazy Busy

It rained last night and it sure rained this morning.  Little Wonder and I had the same routine that we usually have.

It cleared up before I went to the Library for bridge.  Very windy and there was a lot of damage in surrounding towns
Once again (even tho I thought our cards were terrible) my partner and I came in first.
Home around 4:15 and I took LW down the lane for a good stretch.

Gary must have made a stopped at Sara's.  We had more plants.
At 5:15 we went down to the college for
A Celebration of Brockport.

A very fancy event with great appetizers and a buffet full of delicious options.

After dinner it was time to recognize the college president....Heidi Macpherson, who is retiring after leading the college for the past 11 years.  The County Executive (Adam Bello) was there to present her with a declaration....June 18th - Heidi Macpherson Day.  I have been here since 1966 (through many college presidents) and I must say she has been the most community minded, and participated in so many local activities outside of the college.  The first female President here, and one of the very best.

There were all kinds of remarks and many people were recognized for their very generous donations

Tonight the first 20 of 200 individuals or couples' names in the "Icons and Legends" series were revealed.  They are figures who have left an indelible mark on the campus.
My pal Janet was there as her father was honored.  He taught at the college and was an Olympic Judo coach.

Our friend, Bill Heyen (Poet and retired Professor) was one of the honorees.  Hanny and several family members were there to celebrate.  He and Gary used to play noon time basketball with a bunch of guys when they were working at the college in the dark ages.

This entire event was to acknowledge major benefactors for their generous contributions to the Brockport Foundation, helping support the University's mission and goals.  They outdid themselves and were almost 10 million dollars over their goal.
Happy campers.
When we left, the sky was very dramatic.

Night all.

Wednesday evening we had tornadoes and hail from that awful storm. I'm glad you didn't get any damage from that!
