We Got Slammed

This morning was pretty normal.  A little windy....no snow.

Sidney ventured out to the barn and finally discovered that the nice, clean, furry bed in the feed room was pretty comfortable.  I hope he sleeps there more when he is in the barn.
Little Wonder needed his black coat.
Steph, Finn and Coop went in to see Kevin and Nana Pat around 11 and I drove down to Dunn's Furniture to buy a couple of twin beds that I want to make into a king.  When we moved to the farm in 1981 we had purchased a new queen sized bed for Steph and after it was delivered, we could not get it to fit up the stairs.  Gary took out the stairs, got the bed up there and rebuilt the stairs.  It has been there all this time, as we have to cut the box spring apart to get it down.  Well, I must not have been using my brain, 'cause it took me this long to figure out that we could make the change.  So, hopefully it will happen next week.  We have 5 bedrooms and with the kids long gone, the upstairs does not get a lot of use.  I will be very grateful if they can be delivered before Daniela, Ariana and Kurt get here next week.  Anyway, when I left the farm there was no snow and I did not wear boots.  By 1pm it started snowing like crazy, the roads were covered and the visibility was terrible.

As soon as I got home, I went out to put Buddy and Rebel in their stalls.

Rebel had gone in the barn and Buddy ended up under the shed roof.

They were more than happy to be in their suites.

Meanwhile back in the ranch....the fire was going and we were happy to be warm.

Fortunately, Steph was able to get Finn and Coop home and got back to the farm in spite of the blizzard conditions.
She wanted to get some exercise and went out to shovel.  It was too cold (felt like 4 degrees) for Bandit, so he watched from the kitchen.
Did a little laundry and took it easy until chore time.
Turned the boys out for a short time while I reset the stalls for dinner.  Plenty of warm water.

LW did not go to the barn with me but took a quick potty break when I was finished.
Bandit watched.

Naan bread pizzas for dinner.  Nothing fancy.

Hopefully we won't get much more snow.
Night all.

Our daughter has king single beds that make a Californian King when together. For them, and also in our bedroom in what she calls " The McK wing" !!!So comfortable, if we move and get a larger bedroom that's what we will have. You need to be like passengers on planes in the Yukon , take extra food, clothing, a shotgun, something to light a fire, and food for at least 3 days !!!! Not quite to that extreme, but I did have a friend who was on a large farm and she always took a bottle of water.

Addition!!! I read what you really need when flying in winter in the Yukon or further north, that list is only part of it.A bit like when Hugh and I did tramp in the Central Plateau which can start off warm and at higher altitude be freezing. No wonder my small backpack was so heavy, we even took an insulation blanket even in summer.I am sure your boots will always be ready now.

What a good idea to use two twin beds as a king and no stairway would be in the way.
Stay cozy when the weather outside is frightful and am glad the boys have such snug quarters so they are warm, too.

Hugs!
